Cougars Washed Out by Storm

On Thursday afternoon, the NCCS Cougars fell in their home finale 45-32 against crosstown rivals St. Luke's. It was an offensive showcase from the get-go with precision quarterbacking, physical contested catches, and plenty of touchdowns.

For NCCS, captain Nathan Roth brought in another three touchdowns to add to his league leading total, and Lucan Glennan snagged a diving touchdown as well. Charlie "Toetap" Glover nearly brought in a miracle touchdown off a deflection at the end of the half, but was ruled out of bounds. The NCCS coaches immediately tried to challenge the play and send it to the video review center in Secaucus, New Jersey for further analysis, but apparently that technology has not yet been made available to middle school flag football coaches. Tough beat for us.

On the defensive side of the ball, Major Hasbrouck survived a mugging to secure an interception in the endzone on a two-point conversion, and Sammy Wagner made an impressive end zone inteception to keep hope alive in the second half. Ultimately, there was too much St Luke's, and the Cougars would fall to their third loss of the season, their first against a non FCDS opponent.

One more game left this season - next week, we travel to Rip on Tuesday. See you then!
