Middle School Shares: Showcasing Artistic Talent and Community Spirit

Country School fifth and sixth graders showcased their considerable artistic talents in group and individual performances at “Middle School Shares,” an hour-long production created by the students, for the students, on June 4 in the school’s auditorium.

Student acts included a comedic magician's act, a guitar solo, group dance performances, a video of digital photography, piano and saxophone performances, a recitation of a Shakespearean monologue, vocal solos, and joke-telling emcees.

“Community-building is central to the school’s mission, and this event reiterated that this is a safe place where students are encouraged to take risks, be unique, celebrate individual talents and passions, and show respect and support for others doing the same,” said Middle School Teacher Abby Cali, who, together with teachers Camden Fort, Lindsay Frey and Andy Tyson, helped facilitate the event. “Part confidence-making, part courage-practicing, part celebration of the performing arts, the event was 100% amazing.”
