Upper School Expands the Classroom During Trips Week

Upper School students are heading to various destinations around the country as part of their annual “Trips Week.”  Ninth graders are retracing the Civil Rights movement in the Deep South, exploring the rich culture and history of New Orleans, and studying coral reef ecology in the Florida Keys. Seventh graders are traveling to Boston as part of their study of the American Revolution, and eighth graders are heading to Camp Dudley, Westport, NY.
Students have spent the spring semester preparing for these one-of a kind trips.  In the classroom, they engaged in a rigorous study of a particular subject and now they are ready to immerse themselves in the “real world” and experience history, culture and science exploration first-hand.

“Experiential education is effective education and these study trips are Country School’s “Exhibit A” in that regard,” says Head of School Tim Bazemore. “They are hallmarks of our school that current students and alumni cherish.”
